You Don't Need to Wonder.

"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness."

On Wednesday night we talked about being lukewarm. The one thing I don't want you to walk around with for the rest of your life is an unsure feeling when it comes to your relationship with Jesus.

If you have truly confessed your sins to Jesus and given your life to him--you don't have to wonder if you are Christ's. You are. He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all wickedness.

The only question you have to ask yourself, is have you confessed? Do you truly believe? If the answer is yes-you don't have to wonder if you belong to Christ. You do. Now-go live like it.

Why is being Lukewarm worse than being Cold?

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3:15-16

Last night at Relentless we talked about Lukewarm Christians and how that statement is a bit of an oxymoron.

In Revelation 3 it says I would rather you hot or cold just not lukewarm and I was thinking about why Jesus would prefer us cold above lukewarm.

The conclusion that I came to was that if you are cold spiritually you probably are pretty convinced and outspoken about how you don't think you need a Savior. You probably don't go around acting like you know Jesus. Once you do realize your need for a Savior, I bet it is pretty stark, pretty obvious, passionate, undeniable.

Where as if you are Lukewarm--maybe you think you are just "ok" like you know enough about church and God and do enough "good" things that you have convinced yourself that you will squeak by and into heaven -no problem. Lukewarm people are probably in denial of there need for change, maybe it is harder for them to see their need because they think it has already been taken care of.

I guess I would just hate for people who think that they have been living a life pleasing enough to God to come to the door of heaven and hear " I never knew You".

Maybe this whole idea of lukewarm is to light a fire under the butts of you and me Christ follower just as much as those who are lukewarm to Jesus. Because we need to be passionate about sharing what a true life lived for Jesus actually looks like.

I don't want any of my friends who think they are just "ok" to get to heaven and find out they aren't.

Do you?

Pride is a problem!

Pride is a problem!

Think about that...write it down somewhere...never forget this...
Pride is a problem!

It is what got satan booted out of Heaven. In Isaiah 14:13-14 we read, "For you said to yourself, I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.".

Pride is a problem!

Pride gets in the way of relationships. Relationships with our friends and family...our relatonship with the Lord. Pride causes us to focus on just one thing...ourselves!

Pride is a problem!

Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall."
Proverbs 11:2, "Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom."
James 4:6, "But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, God opposes the proud but favors the humble."

If pride is a problem (and it is), then HUMILITY is to be our response. Give it a try.

Speaking from experience,

Mark
